We've had to change direction today as the sail plan we were using overnight was right on it's limit ( needed to be used at a higher wind angle), so despite the fact that we are still several hundred miles north of St Lucia (but still 1850 miles away) we've headed west to make best use of the winds.  We hope to do a better total today  compared with yesterdays paltry 134miles.  We should also be able to stay in an area of slightly stronger winds (and faster sailing) at this latitude.  Despite having downloaded some weather data using the Sat phone our choice of route is still partly guess work, we have seen a few other yachts which has given us a little bit of confidence that we're not being complete fools.  We've seen plenty of flying fish, all except Duncan that is, he swears we're making it up as every time he gets up to have a look they stop become flying fish and become swimming fish, he did nearly get one in the face in the early hours though, it landed on the side decks and he gallantly returned it to the sea.
