The thought just occurred to me that although
some people may have worked it out from Google Earth, we didn't do a blog
yesterday so for all the rest of the world knows we might have sunk. So
just to let you know:
WE'RE HERE!!!!!
Yesterday morning, at about 5.30am we slunk over
the finish line of ARC 2007, in Rodney Bay St Lucia. We circled outside
for a few minutes organising lines and fenders, and waiting for it to get
light. At about 6 o'clock we came in to the Marina and were greeted
by a welcoming committee of 2 ARC staff, 2 lovely chaps from the St
Lucia tourist board who handed us a glass of rum punch as soon as we
stepped ashore and are now my new best friends, and Andrew from Incognito; a
fellow ARC vessel.
Shortly afterwards, Graham (came sailing
with us in Tennerife) and Carolyn, also arrived to
greet us. They have hired a villa in the south of the island, and
have kindly invited us down to stay. So you'll have to wait for all the
details till the end of the week!
Bye!
