Cascais Marina Wednesday morning June 11.

We motored down along the Portuguese coast in very weak winds. Unfortunately we missed the Volvo Ocean Yachts as they sailed very close to shore and the distance was too far to see them on the AIS. We arrived Cascais late on Tesday night and got a berth in the nice marina. It felt good to get ashore after almost four days at sea. We enjoyed a nightcap in one of the nearby bars before we went to bed in a boat that was not moving and we could sleep through the whole night without getting up for night watches.

Wednesday morning was spent tidying up the boat inside and out and in the afternoon we could welcome our new crew member Tomas Björk who arrived from Sweden. In the evening we went into Lisbon and had a meal in Bairro Alto the lively old town. It was the Portuguese national day so lots of people were out on the streets and in the bars.

In a few hours we will set sails for Gibraltar where we hope to be late Friday/early Saturday. Hopefully we’ll get some wind. We will post some photos from the trip then.
