Monday June 8.
After a night with gale force winds (gusts up to 55 knots) when we were running with almost bare poles in 9 knots we made landfall in NE Spain at 8 AM. A record Biscay crossing in only 48 H. We passed Finisterre an hour ago and the wind died behind the Spanish mainland. Foul weather gear off, shorts on. We are now motoring in the sun and just enjoyed a full English breakfast.
We are on the lookout for the Volvo Ocean Yacht which are on the way north along the coast. Hopefully we'll meet them and can have a chat with our friend Martin Stromberg on board Dong Feng Racing.
