What a wonderful day – exploring the island and hiking to the main  town Olib – at the Cafe the owner told us, that 24.000 people from the island had emigrated to the States, LA, New York, San Francisco, New Jersey, they still own houses on the island, but make it back seldom. No malls. We said, just wait, when they get older… We walked back to the boat and enjoyed a swim and lunch, we decided to stay at our beautiful bay, but just then we saw a big catamaran pull up with about 10 men aboard. Uh-oh. Maybe we will sail onward. We got the boat ready and as we pulled from the buoy, the gear box locked. We were stuck in reverse!

Turns out the crew we were skeptical of, saved our asses! Martin called out to them that we had no control and they zipped over in their dinghy and towed us back to the buoy. We suddenly loved our catamaran full of men! Boy, were they the best. Josef I –Josef II – Andreas were our Sea Help Crew . It was no easy task to get us back with no power! But, like David and Goliath, they managed. As, we told them of our woes, they said, wait, we have a mechanic on board! They shuttled him over to us and he took everything under consideration. Josef II  was a KTM &Porsche mechanic ! Our gear box was stuck and he fixed it, but the source problem perhaps remains? They have offered to come over in the morning to help us with a test run. We drank wine over ‘seamanship’.  These men embodied it.
