First dawn on the crossing

As forecast the wind died on us at around 2100 last night so reluctantly we switched on the donkey and settled down for a period of motoring. Fortunately, the sea state flattened out considerably so the night was very comfortable and I was pretty much undisturbed throughout. Awoke to more sunshine and a quiet ship. Tash had the 0600 to 1000 watch so we had breakfast, managed to entice Ben out of his bunk with the smell of bacon but otherwise have had a quiet morning. Made the bread for lunch and just settling down to relax when the news that the forward heads are not flushing made its merry way back to the Nav Station. Hey ho! Nobody ever said that the skipper was meant to relax…...
