We ate a quick pasta supper on board and slipped our moorings at Marina Rubicon at 2100 last night. Light following winds meant that we set up to motor this leg using the jib to stabilise the roll (a bit). This gave us a great opportunity to run single night watches for the first time - very little traffic, good viz, no sails to worry about. We have made good progress and are just passing Playa de Maspalomas and probably looking at the hotel that Sal and Milly are going to be staying at from tomorrow night. We have less than 2 hours to go to Mogan, possibly our last harbour before setting off. If we are able to stay there, and we like it, we are contemplating renting a small van to do the provisioning for the Atlantic "overland" rather than flogging back round to Las Palmas as we had originally planned. The Discovery guys are coming to us in Mogan on the 23rd which will give us the chance to check over one or two things before we leave which is very kind of them so back tracking to Las Palmas doesn't have much going for it.

With 2 out of the 3 legs successfully completed on time and with no major incidents we are in a good place (touch wood - as Milly would say). The crew are in great shape and are rapidly becoming fully conversant and competent with everything on board. It feels good to have the core team properly bedded in before adding the final crew member tomorrow. Now we just "add water" and we are off…..
