We left at 0600 for the 39 miles to the anchorage at Kepalajerih.  We checked in with Galang radio and motored all the way.  We had over 2 knots of tide directly behind us for the first 4 hours so made far better time than we had planned.  We wiggled through the reefs more easily than expected as the chartplotter was very accurate and we were able to stay in deep water all the way.  The morning clouded over and of course the squalls and rain arrived just as we got to the most tricky bit amongst the reefs.  We kept the VHF radio tuned to the VTIS Singapore Central channel 14 to listen to what was happening in the straits.  Amazingly busy and fantastically well organised.  One of the female operators was particularly aggressive and abrupt and was soon christened Rosa Klebb.  Let us hope she is not on duty tomorrow when Tashi Delek joins in.  The best news is that Carol is on her way. Despite not having a phone signal last night I had a text this morning saying she was boarding.  Hooray.  By 1330 we had the anchor down and were settling in for a late lunch, looking across the straits to Singapore just 30 miles away.
