The day sail from Moyo across the passage between Sumbawa and Lombok islands was a good 60 miles.  We left early, motoring and hoping for a strong SE or NE wind to push us across so the we could arrive in a tricky anchorage before dark.  Needless to say the wind did not fill in until late in the afternoon and we ended up entering the channel through the reefs into Gili Lawang as the sun was beginning to set.  Luckily the Navionics charts are accurate here and we found a good wide channel with plenty of water leading to shelter spot behind a reef and a small island.  We anchored well off the beach in a heavenly 8 meters of water and just down the coast from an obvious, very well lit and guarded prison!  Another calm, peaceful night. As we left in the morning we had some good views of the numerous volcanoes on Lombok.
