After Great Keppel Island we again sailed overnight to Scawfell Island 176 miles north.  There were plenty of shipping, reefs and islands to avoid and entertain us while on watch.  Luckily with the AIS (Automatic Identification System) it is easy to keep track of other vessels and because it is a major shipping route all likely hazards were well lit with beacons.  From Scawfell we did a 45 mile day sail to Shaw Island and anchored in the well sheltered Kennedy Sound.  The following day we sailed the last 11 miles to the marina on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays.

Our lovely friends Chris and Sara on Tulu were on the dock to meet us and take our lines before whisking us off for lunch in the pub!  Hamilton Island is a resort island and a very expensive marina but has the only airport in the area. Carol arrives tomorrow!

Unfortunately the saga continues for poor Tashi Delek as the Watermaker is not working and one of the transformers in the Inverter has burnt out.  We are now talking to a Marine Electricians Company in Cairns to arrange to purchase a replacement for the Inverter.  Luckily there is a Dessalator Watermaker agent in Airlie Beach only 14 miles sailing away and where we need to go to get provisions anyway.  We really do get to mend the yacht in some very exotic places!
