I am ashamed to admit that I failed to take any photos of Madeline during the weekend she was with us (lesson learnt for future blog opportunities) however, ………  Now we are back in the water we can get on with bringing the yacht fully back to life by putting on all the running rigging (ropes), sails, canvas and things that live out on the deck.  We can also go up the mast to replace the broken wind gauge, clean the rigging (wires that hold the mast up) and replace a light fitting.  When we removed the protective canvas cover from the sail furling gear on the bow Meryon was alarmed to have to announce that several of the ball bearings had apparently come out!

Meryon kindly offered to fix the new navigation and deck light in place.

or a birds eggs perhaps

Meryon hoists her prayer flags and it is time to go.

We were relieved but somewhat sad to find the bearings were in fact rather old and dried up eggs.  With the last of the jobs on the list crossed off we have no more excuses and are ready to leave Bundaberg and head north to meet Carol in the Whitsunday Islands in two weeks’ time.  Having said that, we then had to delay our planned departure for 24 hours in order to let some nasty weather go through.
