Turtles too

The village was also protecting turtles and returning them to the other islands once they are big enough to look after themselves.  This did not seem to be quite so well established however because, although there were plenty of turtles at different stages in their development, there did not really seem to be a re-introduction plan or any process for teaching them to fend for themselves.

 

They were very, very cute though and enjoyed nibbling fingers.

 

 

The bigger ones had quite a hefty peck so removing finger in the nick of time was the best strategy.
