We had very light winds for the first few days which gave us the opportunity to use our cruising chute, then take it down and try something else, then put it back up, then take it down.  Light and variable indeed.

Mike had read about using it with a pole, similar to a spinnaker so we tried that for the first time.  It worked extremely well, then the wind changed a bit and down it had to come.
