Most of the yachts moved down to the SE corner of the atoll after a couple of days near the village.  This was absolutely lovely.  White coral beaches, palm trees, sound of the ocean just the other side of the reef but nice and flat where we were inside the reef.  The following photographs show some reasons for the fun we are having……

Our friends on Elena drop by on the way back to their boat from the beach where the children built a raft.  How much fun is that?  This they regularly do apparently only this one channelled the local style of outrigger.  Sam and Archie, their eight year old  twins, took it in turns to skipper the raft as it was towed behind the dingy back to their boat.

The scene below gave us real cause to reflect on our good fortune.  On the left the glow of the fire on the beach that Moana Roa had set up ready for everyone to go ashore and BBQ their supper.  For us this was a stupendous piece of tuna that Harry had caught, marinaded and would serve with rice and trimmings.  In the middle Elena, to her right a full moon and then below Elena’s crew towing their home made raft which Archie is by now standing upright on waterskiing!  So much fun and so much camaraderie.
