Up at 0500 and ready to go.  Er, no, not in this weather with squalls and winds over 25 knots in the anchorage.  It made for an interesting rainbow though.

Because we needed to get through the pass at slack water we had a cut off time after which we would have stayed for another day, however the weather cleared and we left along with several other yachts with Harry on Malua leading the way.

The pass was more challenging this time and needed more power on the engine to counter the current, but still not too scary so we all got through without difficulty.

We then had a fabulous sail for eight hours keeping in contact with the other yachts and passing information forward down the line on the windspeed and direction of any squalls that caught us up and later back down the line about conditions in the pass and what route to take through it.

Sud Oest, racing yacht that she is, soon caught us up ….
