This bay has the only coral reef in the Marquesas and is therefore home to a huge variety of marine life.  It is also, once again, very beautiful indeed.

Another attraction is that there is a small farm growing an astonishing array of fruit and vegetables a short walk away.  This is great, great news to yachties, especially the thought of tomatoes, so off we went with Harry and Lizzie along the beach, up over a small ridge…..

… and down to the farm.  Tomato’s, aubergines, kumquats, pumpkin, pineapple, chilli, bananas (of course), papaya (the best we have ever eaten), cucumber….

Madame ran the shop….

And Monsieur dealt with our completely insane request to buy some coconuts.  Just pick them up from the path was the suggestion.  In our limited French we explained that we needed them to be cut up for us and were really happy to buy them.  After bonding with Harry over a discussion about rugby he took us to his trees.  Chose a green one and made short work of taking the tip off with his machete so that we could drink the coconut water.
