We came back here the day before yesterday to enjoy the clear water, white
beach (which is dark gold really but compared to the black lava beaches
everywhere else it is white) and more secure anchorage where there is less
chance of bumping boats in the middle of the night. Having said that, when
we got here we found the same boat that had been swinging all over the place
in Atuona, at least this time we could make sure we were well away from him!

Swam with a ray again this morning and then Harry came over from Malua to
deliver a bag of limes he had picked up ashore. They look fantastically
plump and juicy.

We will set off this evening for an overnight sail north to Nuku Hiva where
there is a bit more of a centre for provisioning and topping up on propane
gas ready for the week crossing to the Tuomotus. Not sure exactly when we
will set off for that passage but only a few more days. Once again we will
go in the company of other boats so the fleet is just gathering at the
moment. We are here with Harry and his crew Lizzie on Malua and they will
be making the same crossing tonight however they go much faster than us so
plan to leave at 2am and will probably still get in before us!

All is well.
