We crossed the line at 0950 yesterday with tots of rum for the crew and one for King Neptune. Now we have to remember that our latitude is something degrees South having been writing North ever since we started.

We arrived in Academy Bay on the island of Santa Cruz, Galapagos at 1000 o'clock this morning but then had to anchor five times before it caught. Very rocky bottom so it was a bit like dragging the anchor and chain over a cobbled street. 1130 and we opened the beer.

So far we have had sea lions, turtles and sharks close to the boat and a pelican sitting on the front. In addition we have had three officials and our agent Jonny Romero on board. We have been scrutinised by the environmental team who impounded three oranges and a passion fruit, wrapped in red tape and declared dangerous.

We have moored next to our twin boat, Dancing Bear, who arrived yesterday and we are going out for supper ashore with them tonight. We have more official stuff to do tomorrow before we get all our papers completed including an inspection of our hull to make sure we have not brought any alien species. We only antifouled ours a few months ago so it is pristine.

Hopefully I will find a decent wifi connection over the next day or two so I can send the full blogs with pictures.

All is very well aboard and we are very thrilled to be here on Tashi Delek.
