Team 1 and Team 2/Essence are now at Coords 27:51.259N 086:47.417E

We left Tengboche at 0855 hrs, our wake up call once again provided by 'tea in bed' by the Sherpa lads, the novelty is still fresh. The rooms in Tengboche are separated by a thin sheet of plywood, so everone got the full benefit of Big Vern's (Tony Veale) 'Exorcist snoring routine'.

Sharky Ward has been dishing out indespensible advice on everyones love lives and coming out with classics like "the early bird gets an hour less in bed"

Stevie Elliott got struck by lightning but shrugged it off, while vanders heartrate never exceeded 40 beats all day.

Deaksy's cyborg ankle is holding out, good job because without his hoofin dits team essence would have gone down. Deaks is slowly improving at cards!!

James Magson (Mag's) AKA Wolverine without the claws, got locked in his room by a mystery person. Im sure his revenge will come when the culprit least expects.

Si Jones after falling down with a touch of AMS is now back on top and raring to go. Rob Mc and Si played catch up after spending an extra night in Khumjung and are now back with Team essence. His determination to remain with the Team yet again displayed the characteristics of a Royal Marine. Rob and Si sighted a Moss Dear. One of the rarest Dears in the Himalayas.

All in all a very enjoyable day on the hill, its getting colder now and were all blowing out a bit more, but morale remains high and we are missing you all from home. A big Hello to all our Friends and Family beit Girlfreinds, Wives, Boyfreinds (you never know) Mums and Dads and so on...............

Team 1 Blog

After a relaxed 0900 start we set off downhill, for once, Pete cut a quick break track for a high altitude stickie (cake) ,who swims in pastry wins you know. Then we bimbled down the track joining Team 2 for a relaxed stroll through the pine forest.

Uncle Nige was feeling a little worse for wear we all hoped his man size tissues would last the day.

After a quick vent stop at the bottom, guess what, we started climbing again. The Gods were kind to us and as we crossed a raging river the views of Ama Dablam were there for all to see. the lads quickly went into 'David Bailey' mode and chad phots commenced.

After a gentle climb, for once, we arrived in Pangboche, in reasonable shape. A quick essence noodle lunch followed.

All good things quickly come to an end and we then followed a manic Sherpa directly uphill to yet another monastry then to an empty school, brills views though. We all thought that was it, however, we continued up for another 200m until even he became bored.

The cry 'off to the cake shop' soon made the lads speed up to smash the last stickie before some hard days to come.

The day ended with some training/dits from Swifty and Rob Norris in how to tie pusser's dhoby hitches for the adventures to come.

Nige is recovering well from a little tummy upset and will be as grumpy as ever tomorrow I'm sure. Team 1 out.
