We checked out of St Vincent and the Grenadines at Friday, which we had to do at the airport.  We then sailed the 8 miles down to the island of Carriacou, anchored off Hillsborough and took the dingy ashore to check into Grenada.  Grenada consists of 3 islands, Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique.  Checking in and out can be quite a lengthy process and Hillsborough was no exception.  First we had to go the Customs and fill in a form (in triplicate – one for us, one for customs and one for immigration), plus an arrival/departure form.  Then we had to go to Immigration hand in the appropriate form and part with money for a cruising licence, then take a further form to the port police.  We were then legally checked in and could proceed back to our boat.

We didn’t stay in Hillsborough but went round the headland and anchored in Tyrell bay.  In the evening we went ashore and ate in the “Slipway” restaurant – we had Cornish Hen, very nice.

We left Tyrell bay the next morning to come down to Port Louis marina on Grenada where we are now.  We are leaving the boat here for 7 weeks while we go back home to the UK.
