We are slowly getting through the jobs we have to do so we are ready to leave on 25th November.  The weather has not been good this week in terms of wind direction as it has been from the south west and strong.  This has delayed lots of boats trying to get here.  One of our neighbours who arrived on Friday from Gibraltar had 36 hours of gale force winds straight on the nose, and has ended up with some damage to his foresail and furling mechanism.  Everyone hopes the weather returns to its normal north easterly force 4-5 before we set off.

We are slowly sampling the marina restaurants and bars.  There are quite a few to choose from.  The main areas in the town for bars etc seem to be quite a walk.  We also have temporary membership of the Club Maritimo Varadero which has a gym, currently having the floor relayed, a swimming pool, nice but is salt water, showers, a bar and a restaurant.  We tend to go along about 4 in the afternoon and have a swim and a shower.

We have met up with a couple of other boats we met on the way down.  This always seems to involve consumption of alcohol, but such is life.
