We arrived back in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote on 4th October having spent 3 weeks back in the UK.  It’s nice to be back in some warm weather.
The boat came out of the water last week to have her bottom cleaned and anti-fouled, the hull polished and the propeller changed to s folding one instead of the fixed blade we have used up to now.  The folding prop will enable us to sail up to 1knot faster, which when we’re at sea for 3 weeks can make quite a difference to our progress.
We have met up with several other ARC boats, which usually means going for a pint or two to discuss sailing and the meaning of life.  The bars in the marina are very comfortable so it makes for a good evening.
We will set off tomorrow for the south of Lanzarote and anchor in a bay and then continue to Fuerteventura then Gran Canaria.  We had hoped to leave on Wednesday but Penny lost part of a tooth and has had to go to the dentist today – cheaper than the UK!
