Sunday 17th April

 

Had a slow, but gentle sail to Mayaquez.  We have anchored by what looks like the ferry dock but we are not sure if we check out there.  Did phone the Customs and Border Security in Mayaquez but only the security man there as they are closed at weekends! He gave us the address somewhere nearer the town so we will try and find it tomorrow morning.

 

We are going to sail from here to Cuba via the north coast of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  We won’t stop at the DR unless we need more fuel or there is a change in the weather, but our weather man thinks we should be able to sail a lot of it.

 

From here to where we stop and check in in Cuba at Puerto Vita is about 550 miles.  That should take us about 110 hours, maybe less, so we should arrive on Friday.
