Cane Garden Bay

Tuesday 21st April to Friday 24th April.

We left Anegada and headed to Cane Garden Bay which is on the north side of Tortola.  It’s a big bay with mooring buoys and anchoring space.  We anchored just behind the reef next to “Spray”.

We hired a car for a day to go into Road Town and for a look round the island.  As we went passed Nanny Cay marina we called in to see if we could get some gas bottles refilled as we are on our last one.  The marina rang Thomas the Gas Man who came and collected our bottles (we’d taken 2 with us) asked us if we wanted Butane or Propane – the first time we have been asked this in the Caribbean.  They would be ready at 16.30 so we continued in to Road Town, went and had a drink in Village Cay marina, then drove up to Sage Mountain where we were expecting a good view of the surrounding islands.  No such luck.  There is a viewing platform but the view is obscured by trees!  So we had lunch and then headed back to the marina to collect our filled gas bottles.  Then onto a super market to restock.
