Anegada

Anegada is the most northerly of the BVIs and the flattest.  It is a coral island surrounded by coral reefs, and only visible when quite close in.  There are 2 anchorages both on the west end of the island.  The main anchorage is at setting point and the entrance and the channel in is now well buoyed.  Our memory from last time we were here was that there were fewer buoys.

We spent 2 days here.  The first evening we dined at The Whistling Pines restaurant and had the island speciality – lobster.  The next day we hired a bone shaking pick- up truck with seats in the back, for a trip round the island.  We snorkelled and lunched at Loblolly bay, and then visited The Settlement (the main town) and the Cow Wreck bay.  We thought Cow Wreck bay was nicer than Loblolly but there was no shade to sit on the beach.

Our lunch as Loblolly had been rather large so no one wanted dinner in the evening so we just had cheese and biscuits and a glass or two of wine....
