Now in Nevis.  We had a very fast sail across on Thursday morning leaving the anchorage at 06.30 and arriving in the anchorage at Charlestown 5 hours later.

We were met by Ian and Gerry who helped us pick up a buoy, which was probably just as well as the wind was very gusty.

They took us to check in as they were checking out.  Not an altogether up lifting experience!  We happened to coincide with lunchtime so some of the officers were there and some were not.  Checking-in involves going to 3 separate departments – fortunately next door to one another.  Immigration, customs, port office and then take the form given to you there, back to customs.  This took us 2-3 hours. We went and got some lunch while we waited for the port office to open again. Closed between 13.00 and 14.10.  The immigration officer told Chris this.  Came back, did the port office but then the customs lady was missing.  The immigration man took pity on Chris and agreed to take the form and give to the customs lady when she returned from her tea break or whatever.

Have to go back on Friday in order to check out so we can leave Saturday.  Should be quicker as only have to go to customs....
