Tuesday 17th September - We arrived at Cocos this morning at 08:00 and anchored in the Bay with six other yachts all bound for Mauritius at some stage.
Called the local Policeman to see about checking in , and he said he would get back to us. 10 hours later this evening he called and asked us to go to Home Island in the dingy (about 1.5 miles) to do the paperwork sometime tomorrow morning.
We did our check in and out with the local policeman down on Home Island, about 2 miles from the anchorage. Long trip in the dingy, especially as we had to twist and turn to dodge the coral reefs on the way there.
Patrick stocked up on supplies at the local supermarket, which was even more hideously expensive than Australia.
It is 11.00 here and we are about to set sail for Mauritius and have even taken off the mainsail lazy bag to stop it being shredded by the winds which we know will be up to 40 knots.
Dingy is double tied - here we go!
