Two weeks at anchor in Noumea and Kahia is getting shipshape. Eric from s/v Papillon lent us spare barrels to pump out and filter the diesel in our tanks, he also drove us to Bosch Service Diesel at 51, rue Auer (Tel: +687 284571), who were not always answering the phone, but were very helpful, when we went to see them in the Industrial Part of Noumea (Ducos). Not having the spare parts, they were able to repair the injector and the generator is working again and Paul (getting better every year) serviced the generator and it works smoother than before!

We are now getting ready and stocking up for island life and exploring the jewels of New Caledonia!

Here some photos of the crossing and arrival:

The Hydrovane steered Kahia beautifully but my lashing of the helm was weak and the waves moved the helm over again and again, so I had to hold the wheel until the Captain would wake up and sort it out at his watch! His lashing was so tight, it lasted for two days!
