Sunday morning we paid our dues and filled up with fuel at San Sebastian and departed. El Teide on Tenerife was clear above the clouds  providing a backdrop to the harbour. It was an uneventful passage along the coast admiring the rugged scenery, from the sea this time, to the bottom of Valle Gran Rey which we had been told was an attractive anchorage. It certainly had imposing cliffs but the wind had gone southerly and was sending a nasty swell into the bay giving us a very uncomfortable night and encouraging us to leave at first light.
Just after 7.00 we were heading SW to El Hierro typically no wind to start the day but it picked up before too long giving a good sail to La Restinga where the marina berths were full and we had to moor to the harbour wall for the night.
