Our guide book to Portugal dismisses Sines in one line as only of interest if you are interested in Vasco da Gama, who was born here, but it is a convenient stop on the way to Lagos.  It is mainly a commercial port, with a small marina tucked into a corner. We moved down here yesterday, once again with only a little wind.

The town is quite attractive, viewed from the port, but otherwise the guide book was probably right.

We intend to leave here this afternoon to do the 80 miles to Lagos overnight.  We then expect to wait out the wet and windy weather over the weekend there, and then will be looking for the right weather for our next planned passage to Madeira.
