57:42.64N 05:41.01W Saturday – up bright and early and leave at 0845 to pass under the Skye bridge.  It’s funny, we know there is ample headroom for our mast but it’s still a heart-stopping moment when we go under because you feel the mast will touch.  Safely through of course and then settle down for a long, hard slog up the coast.  The wind is high, 20-25 mph most of the day, and right on the nose; sailing is impossible and wind against tide has built up a big sea for Juniper to plough through.  At times the speed is down to less than 2 knots and it’s a tedious journey, brightened only by the last hour when we turned towards the loch and were able to get the sails up.  Soooo pleased to reach Gairloch where Mike and Wendy were there to wave us in and an empty pontoon awaited us. 26 nautical miles took us nearly 10 hours - still, we’re making excellent progress now with a total journey distance of 1145 miles.
