Bora Bora has so far lived up to its reputation as a pacific island paradise. Perfect sailing from Huahine for the 50 miles to Bora Bora with the spinnaker flying and an average speed of 8.5 knots with mostly consistent Force 4 to 5 winds, surfing on the waves and fishing lines trailing behind in (the vain) hope of a fish dinner. Arriving at the channel markers through the pass, the reefs roared with surf as spray flew.

Trailed by men in paroa's making the most of the slip stream of the boat we slowly thread our way through the reefs in the lagoon to the anchorage closest to the hotel, to drop off friends the following day.
