Australia here we are. . .after a year of preparations, a 21 hour flight and an 8 hour bus ride, we arrive in Geraldton, to look out over the endless waters separating us from our destination. We sit on a white beach, a golden sun above our heads, finding our thoughts calmed by the gentle caress of waves washing over the sand, as we await, in eager anticipation, the welcoming reunion with our boat at 0900 tomorrow morning. A reunion that takes us back 8 weeks, to a time before we had raised all the funds, before we had gathered all our equipment, before we had arranged our flights, to a time when we had to make a decisive move to put faith in our ambitious project and risk shipping our boat over to Australia, not knowing whether we would follow behind to herald it's arrival. But, needless to say, here we are, our determination, hope and energy, which has driven us all the way, combined with our ever increasing variety of skills and growing list of valuable contacts has got us to this hot spot, where the sun shines down upon our fair skin in this warm and foreign climate. So as our gaze wonders across the rise and fall of a turquoise sea, watching the crash of breaking waves and pondering on the size of those further out, we look with positivity at the peril strewn journey ahead of us. Lying back, the warm sand feels soft upon our backs and a peaceful tranquility descends upon us, we rest today, allowing our bodies to acclimatise and our skin to gradually build up a protective barrier of bronze-coloured flesh. The mind is a whirlwind of thought, energised by growing excitement, thinking over our blessings of fortune, from our final words with friends and family who have added fuel to our motivation to row across the ocean to the last few sponsors who's backing has given us the joy of being on the edge or making history as the youngest ever ocean rowing pair. Many tasks still lie before us over the coming days, so as we make our move to get some food, a cool breeze blows over us, a clear blue sky lies above us we feel riddled with good signs, I wear my good luck necklace my sister sent to me from Ghana and our winning confidence is high.
