The only thing harder to photograph than a dolphin is an Arctic seal!

Hi Everybody,

So after the temperate zone, we made our way into the Polar region. It’s an amazing place. We saw Arctic seals. They have harp seals and ringed seals, donated from the most northern part of Russia. Their back flippers really get a work-out when they swim, swaying and separating before coming together again. The ringed seals are the seals in the pictures below. As we stood watching them, Delphine held onto Snowflake. Then we noticed something strange happening. One of the seals became fascinated with Delphine’s toy. It kept swimming up to it and stopping. It hung upside, really staring at her toy, then going up for air and coming back again. Other people started to notice too and soon there was a small crowd around the seal and Delphine! Neither seemed to mind though, we all know how Delphine hates attention!

Lucia :)

P.S. Arctic seals have eyes like soft black ink.
