Hi everybody,

Even though Lulu is sure this blog will be 'super boring,' and she 'doesn't think so, she knows so,' we've done some serious amounts of listening in the last weeks so here goes:

Audiobooks we love:
The Ruby Redfort series by Lauren Child
1. Look Into Eyes
2. Take your Last Breath
3. Catch Your Death
4. Feel the Fear
5. Pick Your Poison

All of them are swell and just get better as they go on. We woke up this morning listening to Clancy Crew, the best pal anyone could have, try to save Ruby from the evil clutches of Lorelei Von Leiden. Besides loving Ruby, we love her t-shirts too, particularly, 'Excuse Me While I Yawn', 'Some Days Stink', 'Make Mine a Doughnut', and 'Dorks Beware'. And for Lauren Child, creator of Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean: one word. Genius. Ok, again for fun. Genius.

The Harry Potter Books, read by the hypnotic Stephen Fry make everyone go quiet here while any David Walliams book sends Quest into chortling attacks. Walliams narrates them and yes, he does do the Little Britain woman's voice for his awful female characters. We love Awful Auntie for Aunt Alberta and her bad owl, Wagner, Demon Dentist for newsagent, Raj and social-working, 'Stop talking out of you bum-bum,' Winnie and Grandpa's Great Escape and Gangsta Granny for promoting the oldies as the heroes of the stories!

The other series we love are The Princess Diaries, the first three read by A-lister Anne Hathaway herself. Different to the movies since Dad's not dead and Mia doesn't move to Genovia but lives in New York. Not that we've seen these movies 45 times... :) Anyway, despite the Captain cringing every time it's on and making a quick escape, all the females on board find this series addictive!

Other notable audiobooks: Neil Gaiman's Coraline, read by Dawn French; goose-bumpy with all those button eyes, Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thiefthe unabridged version because if you're going to listen to high octane Greek myth chases, you might as well listen to all of it and How to Train Your Dragon, read by David Tennant, does Scottish Viking better than anyone we've heard so far.

We've just started doing a bit of audio boat school so the girls don't have to listen to only one person droning on and so far the girls have eaten up the historical 'Who was.. Amelia Earhart, Albert Einstein, Marco Polo etc. etc.' series made by Penguin Young readers and Audible Books. We have some other audio stuff to get through and will let you know how it goes. Oh wait, Lulu's groaning in the background! She says to say sorry for boring you all senseless. Really, I should have got her to do this....

Oh, last one before I forget, Tale of Desperaux was kinda weird. All those rats and mice..

Love from Quest and her crew xx
