Hi everybody,

Well, the wind has begun to die down here in Guadeloupe so we're going back to take the opportunity of trying to find our anchor buried somewhere in this sandy lagoon without hitting a stray kite surfer or a French parachutist at the same time and make our way north to Antigua. Antigua is about sixty miles away but right now it feels about a million! I know that doesn't make any sense since we've just sailed three thousand miles but hey, ten days on anchor and you begin to lose all sense of perspective. It's still so surreal here, I mean yes, the water's warm and yes, there's a whole gang of pink conch shells that go around like they're mapping the lagoon's bottom with their tongues but it's still hard to believe that we're here. We haven't been able to go ashore much in these windy conditions unless you want to be smacked by the sea so we've mostly left the Captain to captain the dinghy while we've been catching up on integers and English. Plus it's nice to have our friends, Betti and Christian next door (or next hatch) even if they are much younger and cooler and makers of amazing German pasta called, oh no, I haven't done my homework so will come undone now: Shpatzel? Sounds weird, tastes amazing! From the south-west of Germany and really delicious with fried onions and cheese :)

After ten days and a significant amount of sleep, it's time to move on and so, after tomorrow's stock-up on more cheese, saucisson, Nutella, Guadeloupean passion fruit and some kind of as yet, undecided mustard, it's time to see the Caribbean. One word. Scary!!

Things heard recently on Quest:
Lulu: 'Can we hang out with Betti and Christian again?'
Delphine: 'Betti and Christian are the best!'
Jack: 'This place reminds me of Borth.'
Hannah: 'Are you homesick?'
No reply.

Love from Quest and her crew xx
