Hi everybody,

It's one in the morning and the moon looks good enough to eat. It's been cut in half with a pizza slicer and has decided for us the first meal we have back on land. Land? We're starting to breathe the word under our breaths. As if civilisation is catching up with us, a huge container ship came quite close this morning heading for Colombo, Sri Lanka, its containers stacked so high the ship looked like some kind of modern-day beast of burden.

On Quest, we feel like we've just got off some kind of extreme roller coaster ride. Did we really skirt past a hurricane off the coast of Africa? Have a huge whale surf the swell behind us? Did we almost lose John on the lash in Mindelo, only to watch him de-green like Kermit losing his colour as the Atlantic pushed swells the size of low-rise blocks underneath us? And all the time that we've been going slightly slower than a tractor, high fashion and Barbie subterfuge have been playing out downstairs. Even the captain's starting to go downstairs, the ultimate litmus test on Quest it seems while Fin remains a very comfy, if a slightly swollen-looking pillow. Still all of us and especially Fin have learned to sway and remain permanently ready to receive a serve in a tennis match! You got nothing on us, Murray!

We've found the ocean full of long lines of brown sargassum weed just under the surface like they're making endless seaweed ropes and picked some out yesterday to have a look. Souvenirs for the dentist, maybe? :) None on the prop though, cap held on to the edge of Quest, stuck his head in the water and had a look. There were 4 pairs of hands on him while he did it; nobody's letting the captain go..

And finally, things that have been heard on Quest recently:
Delphine; 'Will there be any toy shops when we get there?'
Lulu: 'Look at all those stars! Can I do a night watch?'
Hannah: 'From 90 eggs, we have 3 left per person. That was a lot of omelettes.'
John: 'Me and Samson had this great meal with eggs the other day...'
Jack: 'I don't look like a copper. Do I?'

Love from Quest and her crew xx
