Hi Everybody,

We went to the lava pools on the north side of Madeira today which meant we had to drive through tons of tunnels and mountains. You can see the longest tunnel we found today, 3100 metres long! Then we got there and had the best time!! The pools are half-man made and half-natural, there’s loads of fish and anemones in the middle of the pool where it’s deep and concrete round the edges where the sea water gets really warm. Dudu liked playing there especially (check out the pic). This place is our favourite place in Madeira so far, hands-down! The sea got rougher and rougher during the day, waves started crashing into the pool and Dad and I had loads of fun by the wall getting hit by the waves and the whole place turned into a giant wave pool. If you go to Madeira, you have to go there!

Tomorrow we are getting Quest ready for the next sea passage on Thursday, to the Canaries..it should take about two days to get there. Dad’s already bought really strong fishing line and big lures (things to catch big fish with, he says)!

Write soon,
