Thursday 13th September, 2018.

50 miles of huge surfing seas on the port stern quarter, black clouds and sunshine.  Ariel surged up and down the big waves and Jim coped for 9 hours on the wheel.  The wind was forecast to drop but it didn’t happen until we were in the channel motoring towards Steni Vala on Alonnisos. Then we find there is no room in the tiny little harbour so we made for Vasiliko on the island opposite.  With no depth sounder we motored into the tiny little bay with three small summer houses at the top and anchored.  One German yacht was there before us and another appeared after us.  It was the most peaceful anchorage in the world.  All we could hear was the goats in the hills with their bells. We woke the next morning and swam in this delightful place before leaving hoping for a place in Steni Vala.
