We left Red Island early this morning for a 720 mile sail to Darwin. We had been sailing less than an hour doing 8 knots with both headsails and the main sail out when the fishing line started screaming. Paul grabbed the fishing rod and shouted stop the boat, this is easier said than done with every sail out and took some time, thankfully the fish was still on the line, a nice yellow fin tuna.

The Gulf of Carpentaria has been likened to the Bay of Biscay, but so far we have been sailing along nicely with a lovely smooth motion.
