Little to report.  We had a fairly wild night in our anchorage, as the wind never dropped below 20 knots all night long.  I was up checking our anchor at 4 am, but it was holding perfectly.  I had bought it shortly before leaving the UK as it came out as the best in a recent review, and it seems to be living up to its reputation.  The boat beside us had put out 2 anchors, but we were very secure on our single one.  Around 8 am there was a lull in the winds, so I decided to set off.  Within half an hour, the clouds had lifted and we were in brilliant sunshine and a lovely gentle 12 knot breeze.  We reached Lagos in a couple of hours, and checked in.  The advantage for us is that the first night is free and there is a discount on subsequent nights, as we are members of the ARC.  This is a large, well run marina with lots of resources, and the weather definitely “Mediterranean”.  On the other hand, it is a pure tourist resort with no cultural sites, as everything was swept away in the 1755 earthquake and tsunami.  We will be here for a few days before setting off for Rabat, but will update once we get going.
