Replacing the Jet Engine While Still Flying
In 2017, Firefox will get a new web rendering engine through Project Quantum. The resulting engine builds upon Gecko (Firefox's existing rendering engine) and Servo (a community engine built with Rust) to speed up page rendering by parallelizing CSS styling.
