Distance Run 45 Miles

It was a rolly night last night so we set off early for the short 21 Mile trip to Folegrandos.  There was a horrible lumpy sea running and very little wind so we motored past the island of Sikinos and reached Folegrandos by 1pm.  We anchored in a small bay, keeping as far from the ferry quay as possible so as to keep out of the way.

After lunch the Port Police came over in their boat and asked us very politely to move because the spot we are in is used by the ferry boat to turn before its final approach to the quay!  There wasn't really enough space left in the anchorage so decided to move on again.. The wind had come up a little so we sailed along the east coast of the island towards a group of three other islands.  We sailed between Poliagos and Kimolos islands looking for sheltered anchorages and settled for the north east tip of the island of Milos.

I felt the engine had been running a bit too hot over the last couple of days, there was white smoke in the exhaust and the domestic hot water was getting hotter than usual.  A quick inspection showed some air in the seawater side of the engine cooling system.  This needs to be looked at tomorrow.

We both swam in 24.9 deg C - lovely!
