Friday saw us leaving the boat again at Secret Harbour Marina and take a taxi for the short ride to The Calabash Hotel to celebrate my birthday.  My birthday and our wedding anniversary are close together and every 10 years we have two celebrations.

 

We were shown to our very nice room and we unpacked before having lunch at the beach restaurant.  The hotel is in large grounds by the sea and has a very calm feel to it.

 

Dinner was served in the main restaurant which is apparently ‘Gary Rhodes inspired’.  The food was very nice but it was difficult to discern any specific Rhodes influence.  It was so nice to sitting amongst other guests.  Since leaving Barbados most places we have visited have been very quiet.

I then went for my relaxing massage at the hotel spa – a birthday present from Lin.  When I got back to the room I found Lin had been at work:-

 

 

 

 

 

It’s very difficult to bring out decorations from the UK and keep them hidden for 6 months in the small confines of a boat! 

 

 

Time for some reflection later down by the beach looking out at the boats at anchor in Prickly Bay.  Lin tells me this is my best side:-

 

 

 

Dinner in the evening was preceded by a ‘Del Boy’ Banana Daiquiri dressed with cherry and banana pieces!
