The sun reappeared on Thursday morning so we went ashore for a look around.  We found a place that would refill our cooking gas cylinder but when we discovered they wanted EC$70 (about £17) we gave it a body swerve.  It is EC$35 in St Lucia and the previous record was €20 in Sardinia but the norm is around €12 -15.  We think they are banking on the holiday charter market who tend to be less price sensitive and usually desperate.

We stopped and had a couple of orange juices to cool off.  The view from the balcony:-

Lin (on the left) had a look at this 'boutique' .  She wasn't in there long:-

We went on to 'De Bistro' and had rotis for lunch.  Not a patch on the rotis from Chefette in Barbados but still very nice.  View from De Bistro:-

We returned to the boat in the afternoon and as it was hot we both had a swim.  The water was above freezing (ie 28 deg C) so even Lin jumped in:-

Soon after the heavens opened up.  Thank heavens we had finished swimming or we would have got wet!

When we went to bed that night we discovered that one portlight was not tightly shut and the rain had poured on to the mattress for 3 hours.  This was soaking but 'fortunately' it was only wet on my side so I made a nest of cushions in the saloon for a bed, there being still too much rain to sleep in the cockpit.

Our plans to leave the next day were put on hold as we lifted the mattresses up on deck to dry in the sun.  We called up 'Daffodil' on the VHF and they sent one of their yellow boats out to collect some laundry, which included the wet bedding.  It is a good service and the laundry was returned in late afternoon and was done well.
