With very light winds we were under engine from early afternoon yesterday until about 3 this morning when the breeze came back again.  We got squalls for 3 hours from about 5am when we picked up speed a bit!

The winds settled down after the squalls to about 16-21 knots but the direction is much more from the north than forecast  This is not a good direction!

Unfortunately the sea has kicked up rather badly, also rather more than forecast, so things are a little uncomfortable at the moment.

We are looking at our options.  The aim is to sail around the north of Barbados and down the west coast about 5 miles to Port St Charles Marina.  However if the wind stays in the current direction we might head for the south side instead to Carlisle Bay, anchor overnight, and then go up the west coast to Port St Charles the next day to clear in with Immigration and Customs.  On the other hand, if we arrive in the dark we will probably drift off the west coast until sunlight!  So that's clear then.

We will hopefully know more tomorrow.
