Grey skies yesterday and much of the night.  We couldn't see the half moon for most of the night so it was pitch black!. The wind varied between ENE and ESE 12 to 20 knots.  Carly, the wind vane, steers a fixed course in relation to the wind so when the wind changes direction so do we until we intervene.

The swell from the north combined with wind driven waves from the NE continue to disturb sleep.

We had a visit from a couple of flying fish in the night, one of which did manage to escape back into the sea.  We have a pact that when one of us is down below asleep the other does not leave the cockpit and stays clipped on.  I couldn't reach the second flying fish from the cockpit so I'm afraid it perished.  They were both a good size and I'm sure Nev would have made short work of gutting them had he been here.  We're both wimps when it comes to gutting fish so I'm afraid they go to waste.

Lin spotted a ship on the AIS and by sight in the night which provided a brief distraction for her.
