The wind was very light when we set off from Culatra a little after 9.30am so we motored along for a couple of hours.  We had to take a large detour around a large fish farm which only appeared in May this year (which means it is not on any of our charts).  Fortunately we had received a notification from the 'Lagos Navigators Club' a few weeks ago with some rough coordinates.  This proved very useful when we travelled east a week or so ago.  Sadly we know of one catamaran who didn't know about the fish farm and ran over some of the nets in the dark causing a lot of damage to the propellers and shafts (being a cat they have two engines).

Eventually we were able to sail for a couple of hours, about nine miles, bending along the coast to the west.

We checked into Albufeira marina about 14.30 and settled in for the afternoon.

Albufeira Marina is a strange place with multi coloured buildings all around.  The pastel colours are nice but don't work as well as they do in the Caribbean because the buildings have been painted different colours in small areas.  We think it looks a bit like Legoland:-

Unfortunately a lot of the shops are still not let.  There is not much passing traffic as the marina lies a few miles west of Albufeira town.
