We expected this to be a 12 hour trip so we were up at 5am to be ready to leave at 6.  We checked the weather forecast and big seas were forecast off Cabo da Gata, which is a windy headland to the south of us we have to go around before we sail westwards again.  We know this headland well because we had to shelter at anchor there from 40 to 50 knot winds (severe gale 9 and touching storm force 10) 6 years ago on our way east.  The sea state looks better tomorrow but the wind direction is due to come from the west which would be on the nose.

After deliberating for ages we decided to risk it and left shortly before 8.30am.  The sail turned out to be fine and the sea swell was not as bad as it had been yesterday.  We checked in at the marina about 6.30pm which turned out to be a quick excercise because they had our details in their system from years ago.

We showered, enjoyed 'boat spaghetti' as Helen calls it and off to bed.
