Hello everyone, and welcome to this really ugly nasty bit of water. We're plodding a long hugging the south coast of Portugal, looking to cross over into spain at some point today.

Over the course of the last 24 hours it's been like Rush hour for us. Massive cargo ships everywhere with us dodging in and out like a little flea amongst them. We'd mentioned the size of these things a few days ago when we came across a boat that was 1000 feet long. Well yesterday afternoon we passed a boat that was even longer than that measuring in at 1100 feet long. Wow. Just WOW. The the sheer amount of them is quite amazing also. We already know that the Straits of Gibraltar are one of the worlds major shipping lanes, with boats going in and out at an astounding rate. But I guess shipping is one of those things that makes the world go round. Right up there with love, money and coffee.

As mentioned we're still having some trouble pointing at exactly where we'd like to go. In some ways that's a little more frustrating than if we were in the middle of hte ocean and not pointing at the mark. Our problem is we've seen land and we all want to be on it. Get some hot showers - I'm almost ashamed to admit we're all wearing pretty much the same clothing we put on when we left Horta. We're gonna be ripe when we arrive that's for sure. It's a good thing we're approaching from down wind and they won't smell us coming and close the marina just to keep us out.

We hope everyone has a fine Sunday
